The history of the Freihof at the same time reflects the history of Prichsenstadt - changing with many ups and downs. The small town lies in Unterfranken between the ascent to the Steigerwald and the Maintal. In the middle of the historic old town, accessible by narrow streets, stands the imposing Freihof. With the takeover of the Freihof by the new owners Richard and Roman Gebert, 2002 started the renovation and the conversion by IEV Betriebs GmbH & Co. KG.
Brisendorf was first mentioned in a document from the Counts of Castell. "The settlement's original cell was the only, fully equipped court of the village, the later building of the castle." (Wöppel, p. 21 ff). According to oral tradition in the Prichsenstädter Raum the village arose from a single sheep farm.
Emperor Charles IV raised Brisendorf to the city. These, who from that time took the name of Prichsenstadt, he abandoned his son Wenzel, the Bohemian king. Prichsenstadt had already acquired the reputation as an asylum city soon after the foundation. It was possible to flee there, who had committed a murder without intention, and from this point on to conduct conciliation negotiations. The liberation extended to the entire territory of Prichsenstadt, not to individual buildings, such as the "Freihof", which owes its name to the fact that its owner was freed from various bourgeois duties.
the Bishop of Würzburg took Prichsenstadt, plundered and destroyed it.
a new building was completed (agreement approximately with the number 1592 above the entrance portal of the Freihof). The duty to pay taxes to the landowners was reduced, and the court was exempted from the city tax in a special statutory favor (cf. "Freihof").
Prichsenstadt fell to Bavaria. Thus the settlement lost the special position, which had been created by the purchase of Brisendorf for the Crown Bohemia in the year 1366. Now the city was integrated into the surrounding area. Customs privileges and escort had now lost their meaning, the actual city function slowly died out.
Owner Baruch Frank used the Freihof as livestock and horse trade. Reconstruction of the Rittersaal: removal of three half-timbered walls and the complete floor, installation of a Prussian cross-cut corner, use of the knight's hall as a hayloft.
the Jewish family Frank was expelled. The Freihof was empty until refugees took up their quarters there.
Alfons Hyna bought the Freihof and used it as a livestock.
Purchase of the Freihof by IEV Betriebs GmbH & Co. KG. Owner Richard and Roman Gebert. Loving restoration and restoration of the entire estate.
